#41 Zach Lee – Los Angeles Dodgers
At just 19, Zach Lee has yet to throw a professional pitch outside of instructional league. That has not prevented scouts from ranking him at the top of the Dodgers organization. Like a great deal of Texan righties before him, Lee throws very hard (up to 95 mph before the draft) with a very repeatable delivery, an excellent frame that projects, a 50 breaker, and outstanding feel for a changeup that already grades as plus. It took $5.25 million to convince Lee not to play football at LSU, but the contract is structured such that payment is spread out over a half a decade. Somehow this is easier on the Dodgers checkbook. As an athlete, Lee is in a class of his own amongst Minor League arms, and he could be in L.A. by September of 2013 if he has no hiccups along the way.
