Check out DiamondHoggers.com for all things Cincinnati Reds

With the Reds just a lone win away from clinching the National League Central, every pitch thrown in tonight’s game against the Astros has had a postseason feel to it.  The 30,000+ in attendance at the Great American Ball Park are buzzing from the anticipation of the Reds returning to the postseason for the first time in 15 years.  For passionate Reds’ fans like the Somebrero’s good friend Clint–from DiamondHoggers.com–tonight’s game carries an extra significance.

Here is what he posted today on his blog:

“We’ve been waiting 15 years too. Actually, longer because 1995 ended in a sweep and was all about those mighty, muscular Cleveland Indians.

There’s so many things that will go unsaid, because you can’t put emotion into written words. How can you possibly bottle up 80% of your life following this game and pour it into a post? A simple post won’t do it justice–whenever this inevitable clinching does take place.

Other sites are bigger, use more stats and numbers to back up their opinions, have glossier set-ups. They’re more politically correct. They’re more positive. But I can assure you one thing: no blogger on the planet could have possibly wanted this worse than we have. If there’s anyone else out there who’s lived this, suffered this, been tortured over the losing and has lived it, breathed it, and slept it (or lack there of) for as long as we have–we feel sorry for you.”

Be sure to check out Diamond Hoggers over the course of the night because they have promised loads of great content as the Reds edge closer to the postseason.
