Is Roy Halladay’s no-hitter really that surprising? (Video)

In baseball, the term “sure thing” is one that is seldom used, especially when predicting the success of a pitcher.  However, after Roy Halladay’s no-hitter against the Cincinnati Reds on Wednesday afternoon, we all need to seriously consider whether he is worthy of such a label.

What else can be said about Roy Halladay? This is what he does.  Each and every time that he takes the mound, everyone that is either involved in or watching the game almost assumes that Halladay will be…well, Roy Halladay.

It just seems like the guy does everything right from the way that he prepares for a game to how he handles the media afterward; oh yeah, and there’s all that dominating he does in between.  The man is a strike-throwing, inning-eating, complete game machine.

It’s obvious that a pitcher is truly special when you aren’t entirely surprised after he throws a no-hitter…in his first career, postseason appearance.

The guy is absolutely unbelievable. Even though he threw this against my team, he’s nothing short of amazing when looking at it as a baseball purist.
