{"id":841,"date":"2010-08-27T23:46:01","date_gmt":"2010-08-28T04:46:01","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/thegoldensombrero.com\/wordpress\/?p=841"},"modified":"2010-08-28T01:36:43","modified_gmt":"2010-08-28T06:36:43","slug":"bryce-harper-makes-nationals-park-look-like-south-williamsport","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/thegoldensombrero.com\/wordpress\/archives\/841","title":{"rendered":"Bryce Harper Makes Nationals Park Look Like South Williamsport"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/thegoldensombrero.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/08\/harpermohawk.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-842\" title=\"harpermohawk\" src=\"http:\/\/thegoldensombrero.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/08\/harpermohawk-185x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"200\" height=\"280\" \/><\/a>On Thursday evening, the Washington Nationals held a press conference to <span style=\"text-decoration: line-through;\">show off<\/span> introduce their 1<sup>st<\/sup> overall draft pick of 2010, Bryce Harper.\u00a0 Nearly a week and half ago, the Nationals and Harper came to terms on a 5-year, $9.9 million contract- not a bad payday for a 17 year-old.\u00a0 At the press conference, the young Harper donned a Washington Nationals cap and jersey for the first time, choosing #34 as a unique homage to his favorite baseball player, Mickey Mantle.\u00a0 Why 34 you ask?\u00a0 3+4=7.<\/p>\n<p>Absent from the press conference was the 4lbs. of eye black on Harper\u2019s face, however in it\u2019s place was 6lbs. of hair gel used to sculpt a stylish mohawk.\u00a0 It was a crime that they forced him to put on a Nationals\u2019 cap over such a finely crafted \u2018do, however I can sympathize with the general fear of being impaled by those stalagmites on Harper\u2019s head.<\/p>\n<p>When asked about the mohawk Harper chuckled before stating, &#8221;My sister is a beautician, so she tries different things on me.
