{"id":806,"date":"2010-08-22T06:00:44","date_gmt":"2010-08-22T11:00:44","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/thegoldensombrero.com\/wordpress\/?p=806"},"modified":"2010-08-22T06:05:39","modified_gmt":"2010-08-22T11:05:39","slug":"is-that-carlos-quentin-in-the-state-farm-insurance-commericals","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/thegoldensombrero.com\/wordpress\/archives\/806","title":{"rendered":"Is That Carlos Quentin in the State Farm Insurance Commericals?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/thegoldensombrero.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/08\/Carlos-Quentin.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-807\" title=\"D064859003.jpg\" src=\"http:\/\/thegoldensombrero.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/08\/Carlos-Quentin.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"240\" height=\"240\" srcset=\"http:\/\/thegoldensombrero.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/08\/Carlos-Quentin.jpg 210w, http:\/\/thegoldensombrero.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/08\/Carlos-Quentin-150x150.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 240px) 100vw, 240px\" \/><\/a>We all have seen the All-State Insurance commercials with Dennis Haysbert, or as most of America knows him, President David Palmer from the television show, \u201c24.\u201d\u00a0 Perhaps it\u2019s just my baseball fanaticism that takes over, but when somebody condescendingly points out that he is the same guy from \u201c24,\u201d I can\u2019t help but want to correct them with, \u201cYou mean that\u2019s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.rightfieldbleachers.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/08\/pdvd_004bmp-724091.jpg\" target=\"_blank\">Pedro Cerrano from Major League<\/a>.\u201d\u00a0 Since the All-State commercials first aired, I have found myself laughing at each one, unable to resist the urge of imagining Haysbert delivering each line in the stern, Pedro Cerrano voice.<\/p>\n<p>Over the past couple months I have experienced a similar television phenomena with a particular series of <strong>State Farm Insurance commercials<\/strong>.\u00a0 No, I\u2019m not talking about the one where a group of college friends magically summon a State-Farm agent, a sandwich, their hot neighbor and a hot tub- in that order nonetheless.\u00a0 I\u2019m talking about the ones featuring that way-too-nice of a guy who bounces in and out of people\u2019s conversations, while offering clich\u00e9 pieces of advice and promoting State Farm Insurance\u2026 or as I like to call them,<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Carlos Quentin Commercials.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Each and every time that I see one of the commercials, I am forced to comment to whomever I am with about the aesthetic similarities between the <strong>Chicago White Sox<\/strong> outfielder and the actor in those particular commercials.\u00a0 As a White Sox fan, it is almost too much when I am watching one of their games and am unsuspectingly treated to one of these commercials between innings;
