#28 Martin Perez<\/a><\/strong> – Texas Rangers<\/p>\n

Martin Perez put up terrible numbers in Double-A Frisco in 2010.\u00a0 He barely squeaked his ERA under 6 in 23 starts.\u00a0 His K\/BB was basically 2, and he didn\u2019t even make it to 100 IP, but he was only 19-years-old in an advanced league.\u00a0 His stuff was definitely good enough to get outs, as demonstrated by his 101 strikeouts.\u00a0 Perez likely will repeat the league as a 20-year-old, although he could finish the year in Triple-A with a chance to make the jump to the Bigs by the end of the year.\u00a0 Perez has true ace stuff, though, despite not having a true ace body.<\/p>\n

His mechanics are clean, and his stuff is sick.\u00a0 His fastball works from 92-94 and has downward and arm-side action.\u00a0 It is easily his most advanced pitch, as one would expect from a 19-year-old.\u00a0 His breaking ball is a hammer with good pace and very aggressive action, but he rarely throws it because he cannot command it yet.\u00a0 His changeup is similarly paced in the low 80\u2019s with good fade and arm action.\u00a0 Both secondary offerings have a chance to be at least 50\u2019s, but the curve has a tad more potential.\u00a0 If Perez can improve in the command department, he could arrive very suddenly and could be the ace in Arlington before 2015.<\/p>\n
