After the promotion of Mike Stanton in 2010, the Marlins system is a little depleted.\u00a0 Dominguez is one of the few bright spots.\u00a0 As a 20-year old in Double-A last season, the sure-handed Dominguez posted a slash line of .252\/.333\/.411.\u00a0 While the average is notably lower than anyone would like to see in an organization\u2019s top prospect, a great deal of Dominguez\u2019s woes can be attributed to a low hit% and should be corrected as he accumulates more at bats.\u00a0 Nevertheless, his ability to find square contact is evidenced by his 50 XBH\u2019s in just over 500 at bats.\u00a0 Most scouts see his bat as playable at third for the Marlins, and a generous outlook might envision Dominguez establishing himself as an all-star in the occasional season.\u00a0 Regardless of where his bat takes him, his glove work is undeniable.\u00a0 Matt Dominguez is the finest defensive third baseman in the Minor Leagues today.<\/p>\n
