Pierzynski<\/a><\/strong>.\u00a0 What makes the news even better is the fact that they both accepted back loaded contracts so that the organization may still potentially re-sign <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.baseball-reference.com\/players\/k\/konerpa01.shtml?utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_campaign=Linker\">Paul  Konerko<\/a><\/strong>.\u00a0 Furthermore, it appears that Kenny Williams and the White Sox are finally shaking up the bullpen after non-tendering <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.baseball-reference.com\/players\/j\/jenksbo01.shtml?utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_campaign=Linker\">Bobby  Jenks<\/a><\/strong> and trading <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.baseball-reference.com\/players\/l\/linebsc01.shtml?utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_campaign=Linker\">Scott  Linebrink<\/a><\/strong>. [<a href=\"http:\/\/mlb.mlb.com\/news\/article.jsp?ymd=20101203&amp;content_id=16250624&amp;vkey=news_cws&amp;c_id=cws&amp;partnerId=rss_cws\">Scott Merkin<\/a>]<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>The baseball world lost a true legend this week, as <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.baseball-reference.com\/players\/s\/santoro01.shtml\" target=\"_blank\">Ron Santo<\/a><\/strong> passed away at 70-years of age.\u00a0 His lasting impact on the game, the Chicago Cubs organization, and city of Chicago goes above and beyond anything that you will read in a newspaper or on a blog.\u00a0 Ron Santo will forever be at the heart of Chicago Cubs baseball and he will be sorely missed.\u00a0 Thanks for all the great memories, Ronnie. [<a href=\"http:\/\/www.cardinal70.com\/generalbaseball\/does-blogging-ruin-baseball.php\">C70 At The Bat<\/a>]<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>In 2010, the Los Angeles Dodgers seemed to always make the headlines for all the wrong reasons.\u00a0 However, there was one exciting story: <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.baseball-reference.com\/players\/l\/lindsjo01.shtml?utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_campaign=Linker\">John  Lindsey<\/a><\/strong>.\u00a0 After 16-years in the Minor Leagues, Lindsey was called up by the Dodgers in September and ultimately collected his first Big League knock.\u00a0 Are there any other life-long Minor Leaguers just like Lindsey. [<a href=\"http:\/\/www.thesportsbank.net\/mlb\/in-2011-who-will-follow-in-footsteps-of-dodgers-john-lindsey\/\">The Sports Bank<\/a>]<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>There were several noteworthy players that became free agents on Thursday afternoon after they were non-tendered by their respective organizations.\u00a0 <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.baseball-reference.com\/players\/m\/millela02.shtml?utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_campaign=Linker\">Lastings  Milledge<\/a><\/strong>, who was once a top-prospect of the New York Mets, was non-tendered by the Pittsburgh Pirates.\u00a0 Like <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.baseball-reference.com\/players\/m\/morgany01.shtml?utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_campaign=Linker\">Nyjer  Morgan<\/a><\/strong> and <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.baseball-reference.com\/players\/b\/bradlmi01.shtml?utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_campaign=Linker\">Milton  Bradley<\/a><\/strong>, Milledge\u2019s reputation will continue to precede him unless there is a miraculous, overnight transformation. [<a href=\"http:\/\/www.seamheads.com\/2010\/12\/03\/catch-a-falling-star\/\">Seamheads<\/a>]<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>With <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.baseball-reference.com\/players\/m\/maybica01.shtml?utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_campaign=Linker\">Cameron  Maybin<\/a><\/strong> out of the picture, the Florida Marlins have stated that their 2009 N.L. Rookie of the Year, <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.baseball-reference.com\/players\/c\/coghlch01.shtml?utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_campaign=Linker\">Chris  Coghlan<\/a><\/strong>, will replace him in center field.\u00a0 However, this plan is contingent on the health of his knee, which was injured in a post-game, pie-to-the-face celebration, and required season-ending surgery.\u00a0 I\u2019m not sure why the Marlins are so concerned about Coghlan\u2019s knee; his performance in left field hardly indicates a switch to center is a logical decision.
