According to Jerry Crasnick\u2019s Twitter, \u201cThe Chicago White Sox have jumped in on free agent Adam Dunn<\/a><\/strong>, according to sources. Kenny Williams’ interest appears serious.\u201d \u00a0He continued, \u201cA lot depends on what happens with Paul Konerko<\/a><\/strong>. But the Sox need a bat, & they previously made a run at Dunn in July.\u201d [@JCrasnick<\/a>]<\/p>\n

Along those same lines, Jon Paul Morosi believes that signing Adam Dunn<\/a><\/strong> would cost the White Sox one of their icons: Konerko or Mark Buehrle<\/a><\/strong>.\u00a0 It\u2019s important to note that Buehrle is the only one of those players that is under team control. After declining arbitration, J.J. After a superb 2010 season, shortstop Alexei Ramirez<\/a><\/strong> opted out of his 2011 contract worth $1.1 million.\u00a0 Because he made his decision prior to the Dec. 1 deadline, the White Sox now have until Dec. 15 to exercise their $2.75 million club option.\u00a0 Ramirez, who is under club control through 2013, might be an appealing candidate for a contract extension. Thursday will more than likely be the end of the Bobby Jenks<\/a><\/strong> era in Chicago.\u00a0 Jenks, who\u2019s been on a steady decline since 2006, battled injuries for the better part of 2010 and far from impressed GM Kenny Williams.\u00a0 When asked about Jenks\u2019 return, KW stated, \u201c”That’s something we have to evaluate strongly, because I’ve been disappointed on a number of levels and there are certain things that I’m not going to talk about right now.” [Scott Merkin\/MLB.com<\/a>]<\/p>\n

According to Jim Bowden of Sirius XM Radio, the Baltimore Orioles have made a \u201csignificant offer\u201d to first baseman Paul Konerko<\/a><\/strong>.\u00a0 As it was expected, Paulie turned down the White Sox offer of arbitration and appears to be in no rush to make a decision.\u00a0 One thing seems certain: Konerko will be signing a multi-year contract wherever he ends up.
