There is a reason that Kansas City Royals seemed indifferent about their lack of production at the hot corner in 2010, and that reason is Mike Moustakas.\u00a0 Drafted second overall by the Royals in the 2007 MLB Amateur Draft, Moustakas put together a monstrous 2010 Minor League season, hitting .322 with 41 doubles, 36 home runs and 124 RBI while splitting time between Double-A Northwest Arkansas and Triple-A Omaha.\u00a0 He also showed great discipline at the dish, drawing 34 walks and striking out only 67 times in 484 at-bats.<\/p>\n

Along the way, the 22-year old Moustakas turned in one of the most impressive offensive performances<\/a> in baseball history when he went 4-6 with four runs, a double, three home runs and 11 RBI against the Round Rock Express.<\/p>\n

With Alex Gordon in the outfield and Kansas City perpetually rebuilding their organization, the position will be all Moustakas in 2011.\u00a0 The left-handed slugger seems ready for the Major Leagues, and like Brandon Belt<\/a> and Dustin Ackley<\/a>, watching how his Minor League career carries over will be both interesting and exciting.<\/p>\n
