That he hit himself in the helmet with his own bat and had been experiencing concussion-like symptoms since.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Roberts stated,<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>I don\u2019t know 100 percent sure, but it was Monday night. In frustration [after a strikeout], I whacked myself on the head with my bat in the ninth. I had my helmet on. It\u2019s something I\u2019ve done a million times, but I still can\u2019t tell you for sure if that was it. But that\u2019s the only thing that I can point to because that night and the next morning, I just didn\u2019t feel good. So it\u2019s been going on since then. I\u2019ve never had concussion-like symptoms in my life; it\u2019s not fun. It\u2019s not something you want to go through every day, that\u2019s for sure. It\u2019s a lesson to myself, a lesson to the kids to not do that, no matter how frustrated you are.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Roberts is set to undergo a CT Scan today to determine the cause of his dizziness and lightheadedness, as well as determine the extent of any possible injuries.<\/p>\n<p>His injury reminds me of Carlos Quentin\u2019s broken wrist from two years ago, after he knocked the bat with his hand between pitches; like Roberts, he was doing something that was a part of his everyday baseball mannerisms.<br \/>\n<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Bizarre baseball injuries happen every season, whether it is Tom Glavine purging his airline food and injuring his ribs, Jeff Kent falling off of his motorcycle, Garrett Jones choking on a piece of meat, or Jeff Baker burning his ass after trying to light a fart on fire in the Cubs\u2019 clubhouse.
