{"id":12,"date":"2010-05-06T14:23:51","date_gmt":"2010-05-06T21:23:51","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/thegoldensombrero.com\/wordpress\/?page_id=12"},"modified":"2011-10-07T13:11:17","modified_gmt":"2011-10-07T18:11:17","slug":"justin-abramson","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"http:\/\/thegoldensombrero.com\/wordpress\/about\/justin-abramson","title":{"rendered":"Justin Abramson"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/thegoldensombrero.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/towelstintro.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-3993\" title=\"towelstintro\" src=\"http:\/\/thegoldensombrero.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/towelstintro-224x300.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"224\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"http:\/\/thegoldensombrero.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/towelstintro-224x300.png 224w, http:\/\/thegoldensombrero.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/towelstintro.png 238w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 224px) 100vw, 224px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Justin Abramson, known in his prime simply as the Towel, is a 2008 graduate of Grinnell College living in Arlington, Virginia.\u00a0 Referred to by many Grinnellians as the voice of Pioneer athletics, Justin was the play-by-play announcer for Grinnell\u2019s basketball teams, the color analyst for the football team and the stadium announcer for the baseball and softball teams during his college days.\u00a0 A first baseman for most of his baseball career, he also played one season as a second baseman and one as a designated hitter.\u00a0 Though he retired from baseball at the conclusion of the 2005 season and his abilities on the field pale in comparison to those of The Golden Sombrero\u2019s other contributors, he still has a great passion for the game.\u00a0 In 2007, his first year of fantasy baseball, Justin shocked Grinnell\u2019s fantasy baseball community by winning the championship (they\u2019re not booing, they\u2019re yelling \u201cfluuuuuuuke\u201d) in a twenty-team league after such blunders as drafting Troy Glaus in the top fifty and taking Jason Kendall when Russell Martin was available.\u00a0 He is a die-hard Rockies fan and although he attended both of the World Series games played at Coors Field, he hopes they do not turn out to be the only ones.\u00a0 He was also at Nationals Park on June 4, 2009 to witness Randy Johnson\u2019s 300<sup>th<\/sup> win.\u00a0 Justin currently works as an Associate Director on the marketing strategy team at the Advisory Board Company, a healthcare research firm based in Washington, DC.
